As the leading institution in the field of Nutrition, Culinary Arts and Hotel & Restaurant Management, the Department together wit hthe Nutritionist-Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines – Iloilo Chapter hosts the annual Regional Conference on September 27-28 at Josefa Castro Audio-Visual Hall, University of San Agustin.
With the year’s theme “ND’s Journey to the future: Meeting Challenges for Better Tomorrow,” participants from different provinces in Region VI update themselves on the trends in hospital dietetics, strategies in food service, challenging roles of wellness champions, ideal behavior as educator, principles and functions of managers and supervisors and organic product utilization. It is the goal of the organizers of this seminar to groom nutritionists-dieticians to face future challenges.
Among the lecturers in this two-day seminar are Lilia S. Teves, R.N., PhD., head of Nutrition, Culinary Arts and HRM Department of the University; Ma. Paz L. Sales, RND., MSN from Food and Nutrition Support Services Division, St. Luke’S Medical Center Global City; Albert Jo, MD, Health and Wellness Advocate, Bacolod City; Josephine L. Guiao, RND, DMN, MSc, DOH-NCHFD; Nieves C. Serra, RND, Nutrition and Food Service Consultant; Adela J. Ruiz, RND, PhD., Director, Curriculum Planning and Development, Polytechnic University of the Philippines; and Ma. Lina B. Gelonga, Program Manager, DOST, region VI.
The two-day seminar ended with sumptuous and nutritious food and open forum.
