Alumni association in Capiz formed

USAAA-Capiz Chapter Officers with Fr. Jack Luna, OSA

AUGUSTINIANS in the province of Capiz formally organized themselves into an alumni association in September 2014, as a response to the call of the University for alumni involvement in its various programs and activities.

“The USA Alumni association in Capiz was created first for sentimental reasons,” says the incumbent President, Engr. Jerry D. Hernalin. “The yearning to be with former classmates as well as to renew ties with dear Alma Mater, were the common reasons,” he added.

HS ’84 celebrates pearl anniversary

USA High School Class '84

IN celebration of its pearl jubilee, the USA High School ‘84 held a class reunion last 19-20 July 2014. It was attended by class members who, now, are businessmen, doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers or seafarers, with some coming home all the way from as far as Australia and Canada. HS ’84 celebrates pearl anniversary On Day 1, the activity kicked off with a caravan around the major streets of Iloilo City at 3:00 P.M.

The group then proceeded to the High School Campus in Sambag, Jaro where they had a picture taking. After which, they had a Fellowship Dinner at Esca’s Garden Restaurant, Aurora Subdivision where they were joined by Dr. Asuncion L. Faro, USA Alumni Association President, and Rev. Fr. Williener Jack E. Luna, O.S.A., Director for External and Alumni Relations.

HS class ’73 gathers in Taboán 3

USA High School Class '73

HIGH School Class ‘73 once again gathered at the University of San Agustin on 16-18 January 2015 for Taboán 3, the 3rd encounter of Class 1973. Still making a difference after 42 years, classmates from the United States, Canada, Australia and Asia came home to reminisce high school days with fun, songs and dances to the beat of the 1970s music matched with a retro get-up.

Pax profs commemorate 30th year

USA Pax Romana Professionals

LAST 26 October 2014, on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the USA Pax Romana Professionals, Pax Profs from near and far gathered once more at the University of San Agustin. It was a homecoming to dear Alma Mater and to their beloved organization, the USA Pax Romana.

The air was abuzz with excitement and joy as Paxies greeted fellow Paxies, some of whom were not able to see each other for twenty years. The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Main Pax profs commemorate 30th year Chapel with Fr. Jessie T. Tabobo, O.S.A., as the main celebrant, and with Fr. Williener Jack E. Luna, O.S.A., Fr. Basilio S. Sugataon, O.S.A., and Rev. Oswald F. Duran, O.S.A. concelebrating.

HS class ’75 stays strong at 40

USA High School Class '75

“GOING strong @ 40” was the theme of the USA High School Class 1975 reunion, as the group celebrated its Ruby Anniversary on 23 January 2015. The event was highlighted by the Holy Mass held at the USA Main Chapel at 10:00 A.M., with Fr. Williener Jack E. Luna, O.S.A, Director for External and Alumni Relations, as main celebrant.

The group members then revisited the High School Building where they had their pictures taken. A “Luncheon Tribute to the Teachers” followed at JD Emilion Roadhouse, General Luna Street, Iloilo City. Thereafter, the Fellowship and Party was held at El Jardin De La Sagrada Familia at the Sacred Heart Subdivision in Hibao-an Sur, Mandurriao, Iloilo City from early afternoon until midnight.
