USA LAW TEAM PLACED OVERALL 1ST RUNNER UP IN 2020 IHL MOOT COURT COMPETITION

The University of San Agustin (USA) is very proud to announce that the team from the College of Law (COL) representing the USA won Overall 1st Runner-Up, out of ten (10) competing teams, in the 2020 National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law (IHL) last October 30, 2020.

The IHL is one of the most prestigious mooting competitions in the country as it aims to highlight the excellence of the law students in oral and written advocacy in the field of international humanitarian law. The USA – COL had been consistently participating in this competition, and also has consistently garnered awards and recognition.

This year the competition was held on October 27-30, 2020, and was organized by the Philippine Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross, where the qualifying, semifinal, and final oral rounds were all held virtually via Zoom.
The USA – COL team went head to head with UP Law in the final moot round.
The USA – COL team is composed of: Jeff Mary Megan Cortez, Yzabel Layson, Josh Von Iron Tondo, and Luis Miguel Tirador, headed by their coach Atty. Anfred Panes.
The steadfast support of the College of Law, headed by Dean Jose Mari Benjamin Francisco U. Tirol, made this achievement possible. Bulahan mga Agustino!
