17TH MDCON RESEARCH CONGRESS: GUIDING OUTCOMES THROUGHLEADERSHIP AND DISCOVERY IN NURSING

The Manila Doctors College of Nursing (MDCON) celebrated a golden milestone with the 17th MDCON Research Congress, held on February 26–27, 2026, at the GT Foundation Auditorium, Manila Tytana Colleges, Pasay City. This year’s theme, “MDCON is GOLDEN: Guiding Outcomes through Leadership and Discovery in Enhancing Nursing,” highlighted the college’s commitment to research, leadership, and innovation in the nursing profession.

MDCON has long been a leader in nursing education, and this year’s congress showcased outstanding research by students and professionals. The event emphasized evidence-based practice, collaboration, and the global call for nurses to lead healthcare change. National and international experts, including Dr. Marlon Garzo-Saria, Dr. Michael Joseph S. Diño, Dr. Adrian M. Lawsin, Dr. Violeta Lopez, Dr. Annabelle R. Borromeo, Dr. Cora A. Anonuevo, and Dr. Erlinda C. Palaganas, addressed topics like artificial intelligence in nursing, translating research into quality improvements, and enhancing nursing education, inspiring participants to innovate and drive meaningful change.

A highlight of the congress was the student research presentations, where future nurses demonstrated investigative skills and academic rigor. Among the participants were CNND’s very own student nurses from Batch Illustris:

John Ehrick Miag-ao (3IG4) presented on “Nursing Care and Resilience Among Caregivers of Elderlies in a Barangay in Iloilo Province” under the guidance of Precella S. Velasco, MAN, RN.

Emysal Genefer M. Mallorca (3EG4) explored “Use of Artificial Intelligence: Challenges and Benefits as Perceived by Level II Nursing Learners” with adviser Lea A. Quebada, MAN, RN.

Jennelle C. Dullano (3GG2) discussed “Utilization and Integration of AI Tools in Adult Health Nursing Courses” guided by Ronnel D. Dela Rosa, PhD, DNM, DPA.

Lei Nyusha Tanith E. Alingalan (3QG1) focused on “Usage of AI Platforms Towards Learning and Clinical Decision-Making” under Ryann A. De Silva, MAN, RN, CLDP.

Trisha Marie Cabillon (3EG1) presented on “Simulation-Based Learning and Its Influence on Clinical Confidence” guided by Johnny Tolentino, MAN, RN.

Their research showcased the integration of technology, AI, and evidence-based strategies in modern nursing while addressing community health and educational outcomes.

The congress upheld rigorous standards with a distinguished panel of judges and reviewers, including Dr. Remedios Fernandez, Dr. Ma. Irma Bustamante, Dr. Rosana Grace Belo-Delariarte, Dean Melvin Miranda, Dr. Jennifer Joy Olivar, and Dr. Adrian Lawsin, among others, ensuring fairness and academic rigor in evaluating presentations.

The 17th MDCON Research Congress exemplified the GOLDEN standard, where leadership and discovery are lived experiences shaping competent, compassionate, and visionary nurses. The event bridged research, education, and community impact, inspiring students and professionals alike to contribute meaningfully to healthcare improvement. As the curtains fell on February 27, MDCON reaffirmed its role as a pioneering institution in nursing research, nurturing the next generation of Filipino nurses who will lead with knowledge, courage, and heart.
