Today, in celebration of the Mass of the Holy Spirit or “Red Mass”, the Augustinian community gathered at the USA Gym and witnessed the recognition of two golden eagles for their excellence, commitment, and sheer hard work in their respective fields.
Dr. Felicisima T. Campos was given the University Professorial Medal. She has conferred the title of Professor last August 28, 1995, becoming the second Full Professor of the University in recognition of her outstanding contribution to education in her capacity as dean of the Teacher’s College presently College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education, and her solid contribution to research and scholarship.
Dr. Campos exemplifies the Augustinian values of a love for teaching and a deep commitment to research and scholarship.
Another golden eagle in the person of Dr. Engracio P. Cortes was given due recognition for his exceptional contribution to the field of medicine imbibing the Augustinian values of unitas, caritas, and veritas. He was an alumnus of the High School batch 1955 and the Pre-Medicine batch 1957.
Dr. Cortes is a distinguished Oncologist and Principal Investigator of Pioneer Cancer Studies. He is recognized by the Iloilo City Government for excellence in the field of medicine bringing pride and honor to the city, the country, and the global community.
Their decades-long journey in their field of profession contributed to the growth of every person they have worked with and influenced. As they have touched so many lives with their passion, knowledge, and skills, may these experiences bring inspiration to our aspiring Augustinian educators and medical-related professionals.
