The University of San Agustin, in collaboration with CALOHEA, hosted a workshop titled “Towards Internationalization: CALOHEA Student Workload Experience of the University of San Agustin.” Led by James V. Pedregosa, Ph.D., the workshop aimed to explore the integration of student workload in curriculum design, implementing workload measurement practices, and ensuring the sustainability of the student workload culture.
The workshop, which was scheduled for June 4-5, 2024, at 1:30 PM on the 6th floor of the Sta. Monica Hotel, provided participants with these objectives: to equip educators with the knowledge and skills to integrate student workload considerations into curriculum design, ensuring a balance between academic requirements and students’ capacity. It also focused on implementing practical methods for measuring workload, ensuring that academic demands align with learners’ capabilities. The workshop encouraged participants to reflect on the sustainability of the student workload culture within their educational institutions, considering factors like mental well-being and work-life balance.
CALOHEA, a regional initiative aiming to enhance the quality of higher education in Asia through curriculum development, assessment practices, and the promotion of student-centered learning, emphasized the university’s dedication to continuous improvement and internationalization. The workshop was part of the CALOHEA project, sponsored by the Human Resource and Management Office, emphasizing the University of San Agustin’s commitment to continuous improvement and internationalization.
