The University of San Agustin (USA) recently held its Balanced Scorecard Performance Presentation for the academic and non-academic units, reflecting on the progress and performance for the Second Semester of the Academic Year 2023-2024. The gathering was a chance to assess the University’s goals and the success of its strategic efforts, with the attendance of various department heads, faculty members, staff, student representative, and officials of the different organizations in the university.

Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, the University President, during his welcome address, emphasized the critical importance of each unit diligently monitoring and controlling their processes to meet annual targets. “Our goal is to ensure the satisfaction of our clientele and to foster continual quality improvement within the university,” he stated. Fr. Dizon emphasized that addressing issues and concerns must be an ongoing process, requiring careful assessment, analysis, and evaluation.

Fr. Dizon encouraged the Augustinian community to embrace a growth mentality, a mindset conducive to achieving ambitious targets. “A growth mentality is essential for us as we strive not only for personal development but also for the collective success of our institution,” he asserted.

A significant focus of the session was the University’s preparations for accreditation. Participants were reminded of the importance of completing necessary requirements and recommendations. It was stressed that ensuring successful accreditation is a shared responsibility, noting that support units must actively contribute evidence and assistance alongside academic programs.  Accreditation is not solely the responsibility of one unit; it requires a collaborative effort across the university.

The presentation of performance indicators demonstrated how the University’s Strategic Plan, the maSanAg 2028 has become a beneficial tool for leading improvements across multiple processes. Monitoring and evaluation were highlighted as critical components in measuring unit performance to ensure conformity with the university’s overall aims. Effective monitoring enables prompt detection of difficulties and the implementation of corrective actions, establishing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

In conclusion, the Balanced Scorecard Performance Presentation for the 2nd Semester of AY 2023-2024 at the University of San Agustin reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to excellence and its proactive approach to achieving operational targets. As the academic year progresses, the focus remains on fostering collaboration, maintaining high standards, and ensuring that all units contribute to the university’s mission of delivering quality education and services to its stakeholders.
