CLASE-Psych Program Awarded International Service Learning Award

[Iloilo City, 21 August 2024] – The Psychology Program of the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Education of the University of San Agustin has been honored with the Uniservitate Award 2024 for their exemplary “KaTUWAng Program.” The Uniservitate Award is a global recognition of outstanding solidarity service-learning experiences in Catholic Higher Education. According to the Uniservitate website, this award celebrates initiatives that engage students as community leaders, integrating service with curriculum content and research programs.

The KaTUWAng Program, which has now gained international recognition, embodies the true spirit of service in education, reflecting the university and the program’s commitment to holistic development and community involvement through mental health engagements and psychosocial support activities anchored on the Augustinian philosophy and core values. The award ceremony will take place in September 25 2024, where the Psychology Program will receive a cash prize of 1,000 Euros. The program’s representatives will also have the opportunity to attend and present at the Fu Jen Catholic University, New Taipei City, TAiwan.

The Psychology program is committed to USA’s vision of setting a high standard for excellence in education and community service, as reflected in the exceptional performance of the program’s students and the global recognition of its projects. These achievements underscore the university’s dedication to producing not only skilled professionals but also compassionate leaders who are ready to make a positive impact on society.
