We are proud to share that the University of San Agustin – Innovation and Technology Support Office (USA ITSO) has once again distinguished itself on the national stage! At the annual 2025 President’s Summit and ITSO General Assembly, held at Sequoia Hotel, Manila on April 10, 2025, USA ITSO was honored with a second Platinum Award in a row—a prestigious recognition of our steadfast commitment to innovation, intellectual property (IP) excellence, and service to the Filipino research and innovation community.
This award celebrates the successful granting of patents to our brilliant inventors, scientists, and researchers, highlighting our achievements in IP commercialization, including the trademark registration and commercialization of the Center for Chemical Biology and Biotechnology’s (C2B2) SKIVIOS, and the publication of instructional materials of the Department of Chemistry and Physics, College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education, made available through the university’s e-merch portal, managed by Non-Core and Allied Business (https://e-merch.usa.edu.ph/).
But it’s not just that! USA ITSO also received the Top Filer for Trademark Award, standing out among nearly 100 ITSOs nationwide. This achievement is a true reflection of collaborative excellence, with special thanks to the College of Commerce, whose prolific submissions contributed significantly to this recognition.
Further, USA ITSO was honored with a Special Citation for successfully filing over 50 copyright applications, majority of which is from the Center for Heritage and Indigenous Culture’s (CHIC) work on “Binalaybay sang mga Ati”, whose contributions were instrumental in reaching this milestone.
These awards represent a collective triumph—made possible by the relentless efforts of our researchers, academic departments, the ITSO team, the steadfast support of Dr. Jonel P. Saludes, VP for Research and Global Relations, the leadership of University President Rev. Fr. Arnel Dizon, O.S.A., and the innovative spirit of the entire USA community.
