The University of San Agustin (USA) proudly continues its pursuit of academic excellence through collaborative engagement as it formalized a partnership with Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) during the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 7, 2025, held at the NISU Board Room, Main Campus.
Representing USA’s College of Liberal Arts, Sciences, and Education (CLASE) were Mr. Robert Aguilar Jr. (Academic Supervisor, Information Technology Program) and Mr. Ephraim Basal (Academic Supervisor, Computer Science Program), whose visit signified the beginning of a meaningful alliance with NISU’s College of Information and Computing Studies (CICS).
This collaboration was made possible through the forward-thinking efforts of Dr. Nenelyn De La Fuente, Dean of CLASE, and Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, President of the University of San Agustin—whose leadership continues to open doors for quality education and faculty advancement.
The USA delegation was warmly welcomed by NISU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Gilda Deguma; Dean of CICS, Dr. Felicisimo V. Wenceslao, Jr.; together with the Program Heads of Computer Science and Information Technology, and members of the academic community—demonstrating NISU’s spirit of collaboration and hospitality.

Following the MOU signing, USA’s representatives were given the opportunity to immerse in NISU’s laboratory classes, explore innovative research outputs and initiatives, and engage in discussions focused on strengthening strategies for the delivery of quality education. This exchange provided a valuable platform for both institutions to share best practices and deepen their mutual commitment to academic excellence.
The University of San Agustin also acknowledges Dr. Bobby Gerardo, President of NISU, for his leadership and support in realizing this academic collaboration.
Guided by its core values and the Augustinian mission of Virtus et Scientia (Virtue and Science), the University of San Agustin remains steadfast in forging impactful partnerships that contribute to transformative and inclusive higher education.
