His Excellency Archbishop Piero Pioppo, the Apostolic Nuncio in Jakarta, Indonesia, warmly received a delegation from the University of San Agustin, headed by the Director of the International Relations Office, Mr. John Paul P. Mondejar. The meeting, which took place at the Apostolic Nunciature on the sidelines of the Jakarta Model United Nations (JMUN) 2025 conference, included delegates Andres Ceazar P. Bedonia and Rylle Enzo A. Lumawag.
Upon learning of the university’s Augustinian heritage, the Nuncio affectionately referred to the group as the “Pope’s Family.” He noted the Augustinian origins of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, who served as Prior General of the Order from 2001 to 2013. In his conversation with Director Mondejar and the delegates, His Excellency highlighted the enduring importance of the core Augustinian virtues—caritas (charity), veritas (truth), and unitas (unity)—encouraging them to embrace these principles as guides for their personal and academic pursuits.
