With the aim of promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), the Philippine Arbitration Center in Visayas, in partnership with the University of San Agustin College of Law and Sigma Alpha Lex, conducted the Western Visayas Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Forum last September 22 at the 7th Floor, CPMT Building, University of San Agustin.

An esteemed panel of speakers from different law firms and organizations shared their knowledge on topics, including Legal Education and Dispute Resolution: Molding the Future Lawyer, Government Career Opportunities in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution, Dispute Resolution and the Business Sector, and Dispute Resolution and Private Practice.

The discussion provided different insights into the growing impact of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in legal education and both public and private practice. The resource speakers also gave a shared perspective that Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) offers significant benefits. They emphasized that ADR enables parties to amicably resolve their disputes, exercise greater control over the terms of the proceedings, and, at the same time, help ease the congestion of court dockets

Third-year law students from the University of San Agustin – College of Law actively participated in the sessions, engaging with the speakers through questions during the open forum.

The event also marked the 10th anniversary milestone of the Philippine Arbitration Center in Visayas and underscored how ADR plays a vital role in expediting the process of dispute resolution.
