The University of San Agustin’s Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) program has earned national recognition for its outstanding performance in the September 2025 Librarians Computer-Based Licensure Examination.
The Professional Regulation Commission – Professional Regulatory Board for Librarians awarded USA with a Plaque of Recognition for ranking eighth place among all participating schools, colleges, and universities nationwide.
Seven out of nine newly licensed Augustinian librarians attended the Oathtaking Ceremony for New Librarians and New PLAI Members held on October 5, 2025, at the Manila Hotel Centennial Hall, One Rizal Park, Manila. The ceremony was jointly organized by the Professional Regulation Commission – Professional Regulatory Board for Librarians and the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI).
Mrs. Cozette C. Gregorios, BLIS Academic Supervisor, proudly accepted the plaque of recognition on behalf of the university during the ceremony held on the same date.
The recognition, given on the 5th day of October 2025, highlights the BLIS program’s commitment to producing competent and competitive library and information science professionals. The Computer-Based Licensure Examination was conducted on September 4-5, 2025, testing candidates’ knowledge and skills in various aspects of library science and information science.
This achievement reflects the dedication of the BLIS faculty, the quality of the curriculum, and the hard work of the students who successfully passed the rigorous examination.
The University of San Agustin continues to uphold its tradition of academic excellence, producing graduates who are well-equipped to serve in various library and information centers across the country and beyond. (oco)
