University of San Agustin Strengthens Local Academic Ties Through Partnership with Maasin National Comprehensive High School

Strengthening its commitment to foster educational collaboration and community development, the University of San Agustin (USA) and Maasin National Comprehensive High School (MNCHS) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 27 October 2025, at the MNCHS campus in Maasin, Iloilo.

Representing the University of San Agustin were Mr. John Paul P. Mondejar, Director of the International Relations Office, and Mr. Don Clyde G. Febrio, Assistant for Linkages and Partnerships. MNCHS was led by Ms. Divina Billena, Officer-in-Charge Principal of the school.

The partnership aims to strengthen academic linkages, faculty and student development, and the implementation of collaborative programs that align with both institutions’ shared vision of educational excellence and community empowerment.

The ceremony was witnessed by SB Member Hope Palacios Mondejar, Chair of the Committee on Education of the Sangguniang Bayan of Maasin, together with SB Members Mindaluz Billena, Keziah Villarreal-Saboy, Gerard Morales, Jimmy Borra, and Alvin Manuel (SK Federation President). Also present was Former SB Member John Mondejar from the Office of the Mayor, who joined the event in support of the partnership.

Following the signing, a collaboration meeting was held between the USA contingent and the OIC Principal and program coordinators of MNCHS to discuss proposed initiatives, priority areas for academic cooperation, and upcoming activities under the new partnership.

In his message, Director Mondejar emphasized the University’s dedication to meaningful local linkages, stating that “this partnership is a testament to how education bridges communities, uplifts learners, and creates meaningful opportunities for collaboration and growth.”

The MOU between USA and MNCHS marks another milestone in advancing shared initiatives that will provide students and educators access to resources, training, and experiences that nurture academic excellence and global readiness.
