Lights dimmed, and anticipation filled the USA Auditorium as the College of Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics (CNND) took center stage with their play “Retouch”—and by the end of the event, they were crowned CHAMPION FOR BEST PLAY!
The production also earned Best Director for Caster Troy Zaldivar, Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger Cantor, Best in Design, and Best Story, cementing CNND’s dominance in the competition.
“Retouch” explored dreams, life, family, love, and the pursuits of aspirations. Its ending delivered a jaw-dropping twist: what appeared to be a lively beauty parlor, where two attendants welcomed three clients and made them beautiful, was revealed to be a morgue—and the three “clients” were actually deceased. The scene left the audience heartbroken, reflective, and with goosebumps, blending humor, poignancy, and life’s bittersweet realities in a way that lingered long after the curtains closed.
This triumph reflects the talent, passion, and teamwork of everyone involved—actors, designers, and the entire production team. Under the vision of Director Caster Troy Zaldivar, CNND’s very own Governor, CNND demonstrated that storytelling can truly entertain, move, and inspire.
Congratulations to CNND for this outstanding achievement!
