The University of the Philippines College of Nursing held a three-day workshop on the Foundations of Simulation-Based Education from January 7 to 9, 2026. Mrs. Jellie Pearl A. Alilano, the Nursing Arts Laboratory Custodian at the University of San Agustin, participated in the workshop along with academic staff from various nursing education institutions across the country.
The workshop focused on the theory, practice, and different modalities of simulation-based nursing education. According to the organizers, the goal of this intensive program was to meet the “growing need for structured, competency-based simulation in nursing education,” equipping participants with the skills to design, implement, and evaluate simulation activities that reflect real-world clinical practice.
Mrs. Alilano’s participation in this professional development program underscores the College’s dedication to educational excellence and enhancing the learning experiences of its nursing learners through simulation-based education.
