The Department of Biology proudly congratulates Cyem Luke Valente and Thea Maguad, BS Biology students of the University of San Agustin, for placing 3rd out of 20 participants in the Tertiary Quiz Bowl during the 20th Regional Student Research Contest (Tertiary Level) organized by the Biology Teachers Association of the Philippines – Western Visayas Chapter.
The competition was held on March 7, 2026, at the University Research and Development Center, Function Hall, West Visayas State University, Luna St., La Paz, Iloilo City. The event gathered students from different institutions across the region, highlighting excellence and academic engagement in the biological sciences.
The team was coached by Ms. Karen Claire Ebreo, whose guidance and support helped prepare the students for the competition.
