Augustinian Athletes Bring Pride and Honors from ILOILO PRISAA 2026

The student-athletes of University of San Agustin delivered an outstanding performance at the Iloilo PRISAA 2026, bringing pride and honor to the university through remarkable achievements across multiple sporting disciplines. Competing against institutions from across the region, the Augustinian delegation demonstrated excellence, perseverance, and strong sportsmanship throughout the competition.

The Athletics (Track and Field) team opened the university’s medal campaign with an impressive showing at the competitions held in Binirayan, San Jose, Antique  and Western Institute of Technology – Extension Campus. The team secured 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals, highlighting their strength in both track and field events.

In cue sports, the university’s Billiards team earned one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal at Strawhat Resto Bar. Meanwhile, the Chess team demonstrated strategic brilliance, capturing one gold medal and five silver medals during matches.

The Dancesport team also delivered an elegant and competitive performance, winning one gold medal and one silver medal in their events.

In team sports, the Football (Men) team secured a bronze medal at the Paulino Alcantara Field in Pavia, while the Futsal (Women) team dominated their category and emerged with the gold medal at Central Philippine University.

The Karatedo team achieved a strong medal haul with five gold medals, fourteen silver medals, and three bronze medals, showcasing the athletes’ discipline and mastery of the sport. Similarly, the Table Tennis teams displayed excellent coordination and competitiveness, bringing home two silver medals at the Mary Mart Activity Center.

One of the most remarkable performances came from the Swimming team. The women’s division emerged as overall champions, amassing 18 gold medals, 21 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals. The men’s team also contributed significantly with 16 silver medals and 6 bronze medals, further strengthening the university’s medal tally.

In Tennis, both the men’s and women’s teams captured gold medals in their respective divisions during competitions held at the La Paz Plaza.

The Taekwondo team also made a strong impact in the tournament, securing five gold medals, eight silver medals, and two bronze medals across poomsae and kyorugi categories.

Meanwhile, in Volleyball, the men’s team clinched the gold medal, while the women’s team secured silver, with matches held at John B. Lacson Maritime University – Molo.

In Beach Volleyball, the men’s team won Gold, while the women’s team earned Silver during the competitions held at Joe III Garden.

These achievements reflect the dedication, discipline, and teamwork of the Augustinian athletes, as well as the unwavering support and guidance of their coaches and trainers. Their success at Iloilo PRISAA 2026 stands as a testament to the University of San Agustin’s commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics.
