From Diversity to Solidarity: University Week 2026 Officially Opens

The University of San Agustin officially opened University Week 2026 with the theme, Tuklas Pinas 2026: “Discover the Philippines, Discover Unitas in USA”. The event highlights the richness of Filipino culture while acknowledging the spirit of Unitas that unites the Augustinian community.

The opening program commenced with a solemn prayer followed by the singing of the national anthem and the USA hymn. Each department was then introduced, resounding with spirited cheers and synchronized drumbeats. Special performances by the USA Choir and Troubadours and USA Kawilihan showcased the lively musical and dance talents of Augustinian students.

In his opening remarks, University President Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon emphasized the oneness and harmony that we share which serves as the fuel and engine that guides us in attaining our desired outcome in the future. The program culminated with the official declaration of the opening of the University Week 2026 by University of San Agustin Student Government (USASG) President, Zedrick Wyne A. Que.

This year’s theme serves as a meaningful reminder for us that there is beauty in diversity. Despite our differences, we are bounded by the core value of Unitas which strengthens our cohesiveness as one Augustinian community with solidarity and shared purpose. As Agustinos and as Filipinos, may this celebration inspire us to always strive for excellence while honoring our unique talents and rich culture to uphold our Augustinian identity.
