Iloilo City, March 23, 2026 – What began as a simple advocacy has evolved into a meaningful legacy of community service and animal welfare. The United Social Advocates Federation successfully conducted Furfect Community Day 2026, delivering 26 spay and neuter procedures and 200 free anti-rabies vaccinations for pets, while bringing together students, volunteers, pet owners, and partners in a shared mission to promote responsible pet ownership.
Under the leadership of President Tifa Majella Blythe Kim and Chancellor Zharina Mae C. Catolico, the initiative extended care beyond campus walls, reaching communities in need. The event was made possible through the collaboration of the Biology Department, the Iloilo City Veterinary Office, and the pUSA Community, whose collective efforts ensured its successful implementation.
A key highlight of the event was the support of BAP AgriTrading, which provided free cat food and other giveaways to participants. This initiative encouraged pet owners to practice responsible and sustainable pet care, complemented by educational efforts that raised awareness on proper pet health, welfare, and ownership.
Beyond the services rendered, Furfect Community Day 2026 underscored the strong bond between the community and their pets. It demonstrated how advocacy, strengthened by collaboration and community engagement, can grow into a lasting and impactful initiative.
