USA Hosts 3rd PCDEB Visayas Business Student Summit 2026

The University of San Agustin, through its College of Business (COB) Business Administration programs, hosted the 3rd Visayas Business Student Summit of the Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business on March 30, 2026, via Zoom at the COB Ideation Room.

Organized in collaboration with the USA Business Management Association of the Philippines, the event was funded by the Student Research Fund through the Research and Publication Services (RPS) under the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, with support from the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Office of the President.

With the theme “Future Ready Entrepreneurs: Innovate, Lead, Succeed,” the summit gathered participants from partner institutions across the Visayas, fostering collaboration, innovation, and knowledge-sharing among student leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs.

The program opened with welcome remarks from College of Business Dean Marivis A. Gangoso, followed by a message from Maria Victoria Rosas, National President of PCDEB. Jessica T. Fadiga, Academic Supervisor of the Business Administration program, introduced the invited speakers.

Among the notable speakers were Ken Lerona, founder of Cornelius Magnate Engagement and Consulting, who discussed resilience in navigating business challenges, and Reynard Coloso-Buga-ay of Ayala Land Estates Iloilo, who shared insights on the role of artificial intelligence in shaping future-ready entrepreneurs.

A highlight of the summit was the Business Plan Competition, which brought together student entrepreneurs from various partner schools in the Visayas. Participants presented innovative business concepts across different categories, demonstrating creativity, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial potential. Top-performing teams will advance to the National PCDEB Business Plan Competition scheduled on April 10, 2026.

The event was chaired by Carina E. Raylos, PCDEB Vice President for Visayas, with the Business Plan Competition spearheaded by Ivan R. Duran and the Business Administration academic staff.

The summit emphasized the development of future-ready leaders by promoting innovation, resilience, technological competence, and financial independence in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the University of San Agustin to provide platforms that support student growth, research, and innovation in business education.
