Augustinian Red Cross Youth Council Recognized for Excellence in Humanitarian Service 

The University of San Agustin College Red Cross Youth Council was recognized during the Red Cross Youth Iloilo Chapter Awards held last May 2, 2026, reflecting the organization’s continued commitment to humanitarian service and meaningful community involvement alongside fellow Red Cross Youth councils across Iloilo.

Among those recognized were fourth-year nursing students Starrah Kim Bacos, recipient of the Service Medal with Citation, and Zedrick Wyne Que and Meriel Portollano, who both received the Merit of Service Award for their dedication and commitment to service. Alongside them, six Augustinian volunteers were also honored through the Volunteer Service Award, reflecting the organization’s growing culture of compassion and active community involvement.

Under the leadership of Council President Winneeza Joy Velasco, the organization also received the Advocacy Amplification Award and Responder Excellence Award and was hailed as the 2nd Runner-Up Top Performing Council in the College Red Cross Youth Category.

These recognitions reflect the continuous efforts of the University of San Agustin College Red Cross Youth in serving communities across Iloilo through compassion, teamwork, and a shared commitment to humanity.
