The University of San Agustin (USA) has once again solidified its standing as a premier institution of academic excellence in Western Visayas, sweeping multiple major accolades at the 5th CHED Regional Quality Awards.
The prestigious awarding ceremony, organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VI (CHED ROVI), was held on May 21, 2026, at the West Visayas State University Cultural Center. The event coincided with the grand celebration of CHED’s 32nd Founding Anniversary and the 6th National Higher Education Day, running under the theme: “ACHIEVE-ing Knowledge Economy Together for a Future-Ready Bagong Pilipinas.”
CHED ROVI cited USA’s outstanding efforts and initiatives across various facets of higher education, including instruction, research, and community extension.
Adding to the university’s pride, the University of San Agustin Troubadours delivered a stellar intermission performance during the event, showcasing Augustinian talent on the regional stage.
The University of San Agustin received top recognition in the following categories:
• Excellence in Research
• Excellence in Community Extension
• Excellence in IP (Indigenous Peoples) Education Implementation
• Excellence in Student Affairs and Services
• Excellence in NSTP
• Top HEIs on Internationalization Programs and Initiatives
• Awardees for CHEDROVI Partner HEIs in the Conduct of Internationalization Programs, Projects, and Activities
The university was also recognized for its exemplary administrative and academic operations, bagging distinct awards as a Model Implementer in three key areas:
• Model Implementer – StuFAPs (Student Financial Assistance Programs)
• Model Implementer – SIKAP (Scholarship for Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program)
• Model Implementer – Registrar’s Records
These institutional milestones reflect the collective dedication of the Augustinian community: the administrators, faculty, non-academic personnel, and students, in maintaining rigorous standards of quality assurance and holistic development.
