ILOILO CITY — The University of San Agustin’s Non-Academic Personnel (NAP) conducted a special outreach activity at Cubay II Child Development Center, marking the soft launch and turnover of leadership for the Regalo Agustino program.
A flagship initiative under the Social Advocacy and Community Engagement Office (SACEO), Regalo Agustino is a sustained annual outreach and gift-giving program rooted in the Augustinian value of Caritas. It serves marginalized communities, day-care centers, and disadvantaged youth across Iloilo with food packs, hygiene kits, school supplies, and educational sessions on health and sanitation.
This activity formally transfers program leadership to the NAP, giving personnel the opportunity to share their talents and skills while ensuring more organized, timely, and sustainable implementation — helping prevent donor fatigue and strengthening long-term service.
Present during the event were IQAO Director Prof. Eljean Demerin and NAP representatives from various university units. Ms. Krystal Torres-Delfin, NAP Program Manager, facilitated the gathering, which featured fun activities including dancing, games, and storytelling for the children.
In a warm gesture of gratitude, the host community also prepared and served snacks for the USA personnel, making the occasion a meaningful exchange of care and hospitality. (Ma. Cristy E. Daguay)
