The University of San Agustin College of Law participated in the 3-day Kick-Off Meeting of the CALSADA R.S.D. Project on June 17–19, 2026 at the University of the Philippines College of Law, Diliman, Quezon City.
Co-funded by the European Union, CALSADA R.S.D. seeks to advance graduate legal education in the Philippines through research excellence, digital transformation, sustainable connectivity, and a renewed societal role for law schools as drivers of social development, public policy, and international legal cooperation. The project is led by the Universidad de Granada, Spain.
The meeting focused on the project timeline, partner roles and responsibilities, expected outputs, and framework development — all aimed at ensuring the long-term impact of the initiative on legal education in the Philippines.
The USA College of Law is proud to be a partner institution of the CALESA R.S.D. Project, and shares the vision of its European and Philippine partners to advance research-based legal education in the country that addresses pressing societal challenges. Representing USA Law during the meeting were Dean Jose Mari U. Tirol, faculty members Atty. Sharon B. Millan and Atty. Kchyrziahshayne Dyñelle V. Dinopol, USA Business and Finance Director, Ms. Maria Catherine V. Grabato; faculty members Atty. Cynthia C. Ng, M.D. and Atty. Joenar C. Pueblo also attended virtually.
Also in attendance were representatives from the Universidad de Granada, Spain (CALESA R.S.D. Project Coordinator); Universidad de Málaga, Spain; Uniwersytet Łódzki, Poland; Universidade Nova De Lisboa, Portugal; University of Deusto, Spain; Ateneo de Manila University; San Beda University; Ateneo de Zamboanga University; University of the Philippines; the Legal Education Board (LEB); the Commission on Higher Education (CHED); and the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA).
The next series of meetings are scheduled for December 2026, January, and February 2027.
