The University of San Agustin, through the International Relations Office (IRO) in collaboration with the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), successfully conducted the Seminar on Familiarization on Internationalization on June 19, 2026, at Hotel Sta. Monica. The activity aimed to enhance the understanding of University personnel on the principles, policies, and best practices of internationalization in higher education.
The seminar featured Dr. Danebeth Narzoles, Chief Education Specialist and Internationalization Focal Person of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VI, as the resource speaker. During her presentation, Dr. Narzoles discussed the internationalization policies, programs, and initiatives of CHED Region VI, emphasizing their role in strengthening the global competitiveness of Philippine higher education institutions. She also shared exemplary internationalization practices adopted by higher education institutions and highlighted strategies for integrating international perspectives into academic instruction, research, extension, and institutional partnerships.
Moreover, Dr. Narzoles recognized the University of San Agustin’s initiatives and accomplishments in advancing internationalization through academic collaborations, international partnerships, faculty and student mobility programs, and quality assurance initiatives. She encouraged the Augustinian community to continue fostering a culture of global engagement and innovation to further strengthen its position in the international higher education landscape.
The seminar reaffirmed the University’s commitment to promoting internationalization as a strategic priority, equipping faculty and staff with the knowledge and insights necessary to support globally responsive education and institutional.
