The University of San Agustin- Center for Heritage and Indigenous Cultures (USA CHIC) represented by its Director, Prof. John Paul J. Petrola, together with CHIC Research Faculty, Mr. Jake Ledesma, partners with AgriGaia Tech Co., Ltd. in Taiwan for a learning exchange visit and signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the opening of Xiaolin Sunlight Low-Carbon Community Farm on August 7–9, 2026 at Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Xiaolin community farm is managed by Taivoan Indigenous People of Taiwan, whose thrust is promoting sustainable and innovative approaches to community-based agriculture.
The gathering brings together partners to celebrate an important milestone and explore meaningful opportunities for collaboration on culture, traditions, and agricultural practices between Taivoan of Taiwan and Ati of Panay in the Philippines. Furthermore, this significant milestone highlights the University of San Agustin (USA) deep commitment in recognizing and strengthening indigenous knowledge, culture, and community participation by advancing community-based approaches to respond to environmental and climate challenges.
