CLASE Academic Staff Conduct Outreach for Young Student Leaders at Dingle, Iloilo

The academic staff of USA-CLASE’s Social Sciences Unit, Education, BA Communication, Political Science and Foreign Service Programs successfully conducted a community outreach program for aspiring student leaders in Dingle, Iloilo Province. 

Conducted last 2 September 2026, the outreach is part of Social Science Unit-initiated Project LINKS,  a youth leadership and empowerment program designed to train and empower young student leaders to become responsible agents of change in their communities. Approximately 100 high school students from Dingle’s Rufino G. Palabrica Sr. National High School participated in the said seminar. 

Seminar topics included enhancing the spoken and written communication skills of students, with a view towards writing and pitching proposals to address specific school issues, action planning, resolution and preparation of the minutes of the meeting. Facilitators included Dr. Edwin Samis for action planning with Dr. Evelyn Dominguez, Professor Mona Pico for the preparation of resolutions and minutes of the meeting, and Professor Michelle Bayaua for enhancing spoken and written communication. The outreach is in partnership with the Rufino G. Palabrica Sr. National High School. 

This outreach is one of many community initiatives CLASE, led by its Dean, Dr. Nenelyn de la Fuente, spearheads as part of its committment to enhancing community engagement. /mrb
