From Legacy to Lasting Place: The Turnover and Blessing of Paseo de Sigma Rho

A cherished space filled with memories, fellowship, and brotherhood has been renewed.

The University of San Agustin celebrates the Turnover and Blessing of the Paseo de Sigma Rho (Tambayan) near Urdaneta Hall on October 7, 2026, as Sigma Rho alumni gathered at their alma mater to mark this meaningful milestone of service, generosity, and brotherhood.

The ceremony featured the ribbon-cutting and formal turnover of the renewed Paseo, led by President Brod Winefredo Maternal, President of the Sigma Rho–Cancer Chapter Alumni, with the blessing led by Rev. Fr. John Louis S. Ricamora, OSA. The occasion was witnessed by Mary Anne D. Aurelio, PEAR Director, Fr. Dominador Besares, USA Archivist, and members and alumni of the Sigma Rho–Cancer Chapter.

This was made possible through the generosity of Sigma Rho alumni from the Philippines and different parts of the world. The renewed Paseo now stands as more than a restored space—it is a lasting place where memories are preserved, friendships continue, and the spirit of brotherhood and service lives on. The celebration concluded with fellowship and complimentary snacks shared among the attendees and students passing by.

The University of San Agustin gratefully recognizes the Sigma Rho–Cancer Chapter and all Sigma Rho alumni for turning memories into a lasting legacy.

Happy 50th Anniversary, Sigma Rho–Cancer Chapter! May your legacy of brotherhood, service, and generosity continue to inspire generations.
