The University of San Agustin (USA) is proud to announce a landmark partnership with Dr. Injap Sia and DoubleDragon Corporation as Diamond Sponsor of Mabining Mandirigma, the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) acclaimed steampunk musical — set to make history on April 29, 2026, at the USA Auditorium in Iloilo City. This extraordinary collaboration is made possible through the concerted efforts of USA’s Philanthropic, External and Alumni Relations (PEAR) office, in partnership with the University of San Agustin Research and Development Foundation, Inc. (USARDFI), and the Office of Student Affairs and Welfare (SAWO) in collaboration with USAAA — all united in a singular mission: to bring world-class arts and culture to the heart of the Visayas.
In a milestone that reverberates far beyond the footlights, Mabining Mandirigma marks the first time in history that the CCP will bring its full production outside of Manila — choosing Iloilo City and partnering with University of San Agustin as the stage for this groundbreaking moment. A triumph for the Visayas region, this event affirms that cultural excellence is not the exclusive privilege of the capital, but a living, breathing inheritance that belongs to every Filipino — wherever they may be. Rooted in the Augustinian values of Unitas, Caritas, and Veritas, the initiative is a powerful convergence of education, culture, and community — a testament to USA’s enduring mission of advancing arts education and extending its transformative impact to the communities it serves.
It is a partnership made all the more meaningful by the deep and abiding bond that Dr. Edgar “Injap” Sia II shares with the University of San Agustin — his alma mater. A proud Golden Eagle, Dr. Sia’s love for the USA has never been merely sentimental; it is active, generous, and transformative. His legacy is enshrined in the Dr. Edgar “Injap” Sia II Center for Continuing Education — a living monument to his commitment to lifelong learning and his belief that education must remain an open and ever-widening door. It is from this same spirit that his Diamond Sponsorship of Mabining Mandirigma flows — not as an act of charity alone, but as the natural expression of a Golden Eagle who is gifted to give. Dr. Sia was conferred the Degree of Humanities (Honoris Causa) last March 31, 2012.
Dr. Injap Sia’s sponsorship goes far beyond the grandeur of the stage. Aligned with DoubleDragon’s Corporate Social Responsibility thrust on Education, this partnership will fund complimentary tickets for underserved and marginalized communities — students and individuals for whom a CCP production would otherwise remain a distant dream. In a time when so many communities continue to grapple with the weight of hardship and inequity, Dr. Sia and DoubleDragon remind us of a profound and enduring truth: that culture heals, art unites, and beauty — shared across all divides — has the power to restore human dignity. When the curtain rises on Mabining Mandirigma, it will rise not just for those who could afford a seat, but for every young dreamer who deserves one — because DoubleDragon believes that even in the midst of crisis, it is the act of gathering together around something greater than ourselves that rebuilds communities from within and rekindles the hope that binds us as one people. Beyond the walls of the auditorium, this partnership reflects DoubleDragon’s deep institutional commitment to cultivating a workplace and a corporate culture that genuinely values social good — where business success is measured not only in growth and profit, but in the lives uplifted, the doors opened, and the communities made whole; a company that does not merely respond to the needs of society, but actively and intentionally weaves the pursuit of human flourishing into the very fabric of how it does business, inspiring its people, its partners, and its industry to see that the truest mark of enterprise is not what it builds for itself, but what it leaves behind for others.
