It is these enduring values that have once again found their most generous expression through the University of San Agustin International Foundation, Inc. (USAIFI), as it proudly stepped forward as Platinum Sponsor of the University’s recently produced cultural event for its culture and arts advocacy, Tanghalang Pilipino’s Mabining Mandirigma.
In a gesture that spoke volumes about where their hearts truly reside, USAIFI — composed of dedicated Augustinian alumni based in the United States of America who rallied support from across the globe — had chosen to honor not merely a performance, but the remarkable people behind every note, every movement, and every word spoken on stage in institutional activities and local events. As beneficiaries, they have named the complete membership of all four of the University’s premier performing arts ensembles: Kawilihan-USA, the USA Band, the USA Little Theater, and the USA Choir and Troubadours. These four ensembles are the living, breathing artistic heartbeat of the University of San Agustin. They are the scholars who pour countless hours into rehearsals — who surrender weekends to perfect a single choreography, a single measure of harmony, a single line of dialogue — all in the name of art, passion, and excellence.
USAIFI sees them. It is that recognition, more than anything else, that will remain with these young artists long after the final curtain fell on Mabining Mandirigma.
