On February 20, 2026, the University of San Agustin officially launched its Elementary Library at the Sambag Campus — a milestone that transforms years of planning into a permanent, purpose-built haven for young Augustinian learners.
The library’s journey to permanence is itself a story of perseverance. Once confined to borrowed classrooms, the new library was thoughtfully designed with children at the center of every decision. Among its most defining features is the Imagination Station — a vibrant, flexible area where students can read in groups, collaborate with peers, engage in creative crafts, and independently explore materials tailored to their interests. The space honors different learning styles, nurturing independence and confidence in equal measure.
Equally enchanting is the Storytelling Corner — a cozy, inviting nook where teachers and librarians lead sessions that ignite imagination, sharpen listening skills, and deepen reading comprehension. For many children, this may be the space where the magic of stories first takes hold.
For older learners and faculty, the library’s Teacher’s Corner and Research Area provides computer facilities and Wi-Fi connectivity, ensuring that digital research, academic preparation, and technology-integrated instruction are not just possibilities — they are readily available to all.
The library also reflects the University’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals — advancing quality education through inclusive, accessible learning; reduced inequalities by ensuring every learner has equal access to resources; and partnerships for the goals through the collaborative spirit that made this project possible.
Under the visionary leadership of University President Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, and through the united efforts of administrators, faculty, librarians, and parents, the Elementary Library now stands as a lasting legacy — a space where every child’s story is just beginning.
