Alumni Book Donation Breathes New Life into Campus Libraries

The Learning Resource Center recently received a generous donation of books from dedicated alumni, marking a heartwarming gesture of continued commitment to education and community service. The first donation consisted of 28 volumes of Crime and Punishment The Illustrated Crime Encyclopedia, graciously contributed by the Psychology Batch ’73, while additional books drawn from the personal library of Dr. Rene and Daisy Lim further enriched the collection. These donations were warmly received by Learning Resource Center Director Ms. Rhea Espina, who expressed the institution’s deep gratitude for the alumni’s enduring support. The donated volumes will benefit the Criminology department and different campus libraries, ensuring that students and faculty across all campuses gain access to a broader and more diverse range of reading materials. Additionally, a selection of books and magazines has been earmarked for the Social Action and Community Engagement Office’s Project ALAB — Augustinian Literacy Advancement for Barangays — a meaningful initiative that extends the gift of learning beyond the campus walls and into the heart of surrounding communities. This outpouring of generosity from alumni reflects not only a love of learning but also a deep-rooted Augustinian spirit of service, ensuring that knowledge continues to be shared, celebrated, and passed on to future generations.
