Prof. Jonel Saludes, PhD, was named by the Professional Regulation Commission as its 2021 Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of Chemistry.
The award is the highest recognition given by PRC upon a professional as recommended by his peers for having sufficiently demonstrated professional competence of the highest degree and conducted himself with integrity in the exercise of his profession; meaningfully participated in professional activities through the professional organization; significantly contributed to the advancement of the profession; and sincerely discharged personal and professional social responsibility through meaningful contribution/participation in socio-related activities.
Dr. Saludes is the University of San Agustin’s Associate Vice President for Research and Global Relations and Director of the Center for Natural Drug Discovery and Development.
He is set to receive the distinction come November 12, 2021.
Earlier this year, Prof. Saludes was also recognized as one of the Top 100 Asian Scientists for 2021.
