Augustinian Mooters win 2021 National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law

The University of San Agustin congratulates its College of Law Mooters for emerging as champions in the recently concluded 2021 National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law.

The team from the USA, composed of Jeff Earl Nuñez, Blessie Marie Cawaling, and Mark David Dacula, competed against the University of the Philippines College of Law in the final round. The team’s coach is Atty. Anfred Panes, faculty member of the USA College of Law.

Other awards bested by the team are:
Overall Best Mooter – Jeff Earl Nuñez
2nd Best Mooter – Blessie Marie Cawaling
Overall Best Memorial for the Prosecution
Overall Best Memorial for the Defense

As the Overall Best Mooter for this competition, Mr. Nuñez also received the Justice Leonor Ines Luciano Award.

The virtual competition took place today, 22 October 2021. Behind the team’s success are Danny Dy Quioyo, Bjorn Denfield Hudierrez, and Megan Cortez as support staff at the Hotel Sta. Monica, University of San Agustin.

The University of San Agustin College of Law team will represent the Philippines to the Red Cross Competition International Rounds hosted by Hong Kong Red Cross come March 2022.
