Culture  and Arts Education is a field of specialization engaged in (1) clarifying the conceptual foundations of value-laden creative expressions such as visual arts,  music, drama and dance, (2) defining its relations to other disciplines of thought and actions that address the fundamental question of what it means to creatively express the condition and possibilities of crafting and asserting  creative expressions of being human in diverse context, and (3) developing programs responsive to local and global contexts of production, circulation, and consumption of creative expressions.

In addition to the general admission requirements of the University (Certificate of Good Moral Character, Birth Certificate /PSA Document, Marriage Contract for married female students, two pieces 2x2 picture), Applicants seeking admission/readmission to the Education Programs shall comply with the following requirements.

 

  1. Admission Requirements for Incoming First Year Students

1.1  Form 138 (High School Report Card) an average grade of at least Eighty Percent (80%) as indicated in the Form 138.

The B.A. in Philosophy Programme is designed to give students a supervised pre-professional experience applying philosophical knowledge and research methods in an industry-based organization. To that end, for the B.A. in Philosophy, students will be carrying out Applied Philosophy projects in non – government organizations and local and international industries (CMO no. 26, s. 2017, Art. 5, Section 5.2-4).  Applied philosophy can be defined as using philosophical tools to address specific philosophical problems (issues), often for a particular group of people (Steele and Price, 2008, p. 3). Specifically, it is the use/application of philosophical methods (all types) and theory (all types) to address some issue or problem.
