Bilaskogay is a traditional Philippine folk dance originating from the fishing villages of Antique, often featured in Visayan-influenced performances. Dancers playfully mimic the movements of fishermen catching, gathering, and cleaning shrimps or fish, showcasing the lively and industrious nature of coastal life.

The folk dance competition, themed “Sayaw ng Pamana, Sigla ng Kabataan,” celebrated Filipino heritage and the vibrant energy of the youth. The program formally opened with a Prayer and Preliminaries, followed by the Opening Remarks of James Mariano (Folkdance 2026 Chairperson), who reminded the audience that dance is not only about winning, but also about honoring culture and strengthening unity among students.
Each college showcased unique folk dances, with pre-judging of costumes conducted prior to the competition to ensure fairness and highlight cultural authenticity.
