Fr. John Louis S. Ricamora, OSA, recently participated in a Postgraduate Course on Basic Health Promotion hosted by the College of Public Health at the University of the Philippines Manila. The course took place from December 15 to 19, 2025, and covered a wide range of essential concepts and strategies crucial to health promotion and education.
During the training, participants delved into foundational health principles, explored insights from international conferences on health promotion, and examined various processes and strategies, including the healthy settings approach, as well as planning and evaluation techniques.
Fr. Ricamora’s involvement in this significant postgraduate course aligns with his ongoing commitment as the Dean of the College of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics. His participation is aimed at strengthening the public health components of the nursing and nutrition and dietetics curricula, ensuring that future professionals are well-equipped to address health promotion in their practice.
This initiative reflects the increasing importance of health education and promotion in the academic landscape, positioning the College of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics at the forefront of public health advocacy and education.
