Chemical Engineering alumna Edith Mijares-Ardiente (ChE ’66) and her sister Cecilia Mijares (BS Med Tech ’67) made a heartfelt homecoming to their beloved alma mater, rekindling decades of cherished memories in a visit that reminded everyone why this University holds such a special place in the hearts of its graduates. Warmly welcomed by the Philanthropic, External and Alumni Relations (PEAR) team, the sisters were guided through a nostalgic tour of the campus — from familiar corridors to beloved landmarks, each corner alive with the echoes of a student life well lived. Among the visit’s most memorable moments was a quiet, moving pause before the majestic statue of St. Augustine — a monument brought to life through the generosity of alumni donors, including the Mijares sisters themselves, whose pooled contributions stand as a proud and lasting symbol of shared faith, gratitude, and legacy. The sisters also had the privilege of meeting members of the University’s Management Council, a meaningful exchange that beautifully bridged generations of leadership and enduring loyalty. Their visit is a gentle yet powerful reminder that no matter how many years have passed, the bond between an alumna and her alma mater only deepens with time — and that the gates of this cherished institution are always open, waiting to welcome you home.
