The College of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Ms. Mary Gale B. Lachica, a 4th-year BS Nutrition and Dietetics student from the University of San Agustin, who represented her research group at the 7th International Conference on Food, Nutrition, Health, and Lifestyle (NUTRICON 2025) held on November 17–18 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Lachica presented their innovative study titled “Saccharum officinarum bagasse and Zea mays husk as potential biodegradable, eco-friendly food packaging material”. Their work highlights the potential of agricultural by-products in addressing global environmental concerns, marking a significant step toward greener and more responsible food technology solutions.
Accompanying her was Ms. Juric Liny Linaugo, a dedicated faculty member of the Nutrition and Dietetics Program, who provided mentorship and support throughout the international event. Their participation underscores the strong academic foundation and research excellence nurtured within the College.
