The College of Nursing, Nutrition, and Dietetics (CNND) of the University of San Agustin, in partnership with the Student Nurses Association of the Philippines–Research Council, successfully conducted the 3rd CNND Research Colloquium, now officially called the Fray Juan Manuel Chaguaceda, OSA Research Colloquium, on September 15, 2025, at the USA Gymnasium and PMT 7th Floor.
With the theme “Evidence, Excellence, and Ethics: Scientific Rigor in Modern Health Research,” the colloquium underscored the importance of ethical and evidence-based practices in advancing healthcare knowledge and professional growth.
The event opened with rites led by Rev. Fr. John Louis B. Ricamora, OSA, MAT, MN, RN, Dean of CNND, who emphasized cultivating a strong research culture in nursing and allied health. Delegates from neighboring institutions such as Central Philippine University, West Visayas State University, St. Paul University – Iloilo, and Iloilo Doctors College graced the event, strengthening collaboration and academic exchange across the region.
A total of 105 research studies were presented through Pecha Kucha, podium, and poster sessions, providing a diverse platform for scholarly storytelling, academic discussion, and innovative visuals. These works reflected the creativity, rigor, and commitment of student researchers, particularly Batch Illustris, in embodying the values of evidence, excellence, and ethics.
The colloquium culminated in the awarding of meritus, bene meritus, and meritissimus recognitions, honoring outstanding presenters and their scholarly achievements. Special thanks and recognition to the were also given to the USA SNAP-RC and working committee spearheaded by Sir Juniel De La Riarte and Ms. Kaisha Ann Escanda Barrios, alongside the CNND academic personnel and support staff, the CNND Nightingales and USA Silabu, the esteemed panel of judges and reactors, student and faculty delegates from WVSU, CPU, SPUI, and IDC, chief nurses, research advocates, and generous sponsors including
Brainhub, SM Store, Bombo Radyo, IPI, Flour, and Ms. Louisse Calanza.
As the day closed, the Fray Juan Manuel Chaguaceda Research Colloquium 2025 stood as a testament to CNND’s unwavering dedication to shaping future healthcare professionals who lead not only in clinical practice but also in advancing research with integrity and purpose.
