GSTC Orients International Students Under CAPIS Special Program

As part of the commitment of the USA-Guidance Services and Testing Center (GSTC) to respond to the needs of learners and other beneficiaries and support the university’s aim of internationalization, the special program Cultural Adaptability Program for International Students (CAPIS), under the CARE Program (Counseling and Assistance for Resilience and Empowerment) for Students with Diverse Needs, kicked off with an orientation and acquaintance party for international students on October 14, 2025, at the GSTC Office, 4th Floor, Alumni Building.

The orientation was attended by seven international students from CLASE, CNND, and COB. CAPIS aims to assist international students in adjusting to the academic, social, and cultural environment of the university. Furthermore, the program seeks to support their holistic adjustment and well-being by delivering responsive, student-centered guidance services while fostering cultural awareness, sensitivity, and inclusivity within the Augustinian community.

During the orientation, the students were introduced to the guidance services and activities planned for the special program. The initiative aims to establish a special interest group where international students can collaborate, connect with fellow international students, become better acquainted with the university, and access the inclusive services offered by the university’s guidance unit.

The special interest group will also provide psychoeducation through modules that will serve as springboards for discussions during each session, beginning this month and continuing thereafter. The event was organized by the moderators of the special program, Mr. Rolito C. Bade, Jr., RGC, and Ms. Rasheene Ann C. Forel, RGC.
