The University of San Agustin (USA) welcomed officials from HSE University (National Research University Higher School of Economics) during a courtesy visit held on 06 February 2026, marking an important step in strengthening international academic engagement and institutional cooperation.
The visiting delegation from HSE University, composed of Mr. Svyatoslav Kvartalnov, Director of the HSE Representative Offices Department, Mr. Bima Ramadhani, Director of the HSE Representative Office in Indonesia, and Ms. Kseniia Nicheuhina, Head of the Centre of International Education of HSE Saint Petersburg, were received by University President Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, and Director John Paul P. Mondejar of the International Relations Office. The meeting provided an avenue for both institutions to exchange perspectives on higher education, research collaboration, faculty and student mobility, and other areas of mutual interest.
Discussions centered on potential avenues for collaboration, including joint research initiatives, academic exchanges, short-term programs, and internationalization strategies aligned with the global outlook of both universities. The visit underscored a shared commitment to fostering cross-border partnerships that promote academic excellence, innovation, and cultural understanding.
The courtesy visit also comes at a significant moment, as 2026 marks the 50th year of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Russia, highlighting the long-standing ties and shared interests between the two countries in education, research, and cultural exchange.
