IPOPHL honors the University of San Agustin’s ITSO with the prestigious PLATINUM Cluster Award

The University of San Agustin’s Innovation and Technology Support Office (USA ITSO) has received recognition for receiving the highest distinction, the PLATINUM Cluster Award, from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). This valued recognition is reserved for institutions who have exceeded ITSO 2.0’s stringent standards and deliverables, proving excellence in intellectual property production, protection, and management.

The triumphant moment occurred as Rev. Fr. Frederick C. Comendador, OSA, University President; Dr. Jonel P. Saludes, Vice President for Research and Global Relations; and Ms. Aneline P. Tolones, ITSO Assistant Director, proudly accepted the prestigious award at the Annual ITSO Presidents’ Summit on March 18, 2024, at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati.

The significance of this achievement reverberates throughout the USA ITSO community, igniting a spirit of celebration and pride among students, faculty members, researchers, stakeholders, and the wider Augustinian community. This remarkable feat stands as a testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved, reflecting the University’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

The USA ITSO is essential for promoting research, safeguarding intellectual property, and advancing technology. Acting as the university’s intellectual property division, it created an e-commerce portal, expanded its services nationally, and partnered with outside organizations to accomplish its goals. All of these things contribute to the university’s ambition of being a premier research school.

As the University marks its 120th year of creation, USA ITSO’s historic achievement serves as a testament to the institution’s unwavering pursuit of knowledge, teamwork, and inventiveness.

To God be all the glory!
