LGU discusses PTRP with USA Stakeholders

August 2, 2022 – The University of San Agustin stakeholders attended the Iloilo City Public Transport Route Plan Consultative Meeting that was conducted by the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO). Present during the meeting were Mr. Jeck Conlu (Department Head) and Mr. JV Mabilog (Asst. Department Head) together with Ar. Dolly Zuluaga of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), Councilor Sedfrey Cabaluna (Chairperson for Committee on Transportation) and Retd. Col. Uldarico Garbanzos from the Office of the City Mayor.

The Local Public Transport Route Plan, Hierarchy and Classification of Public Transport Modes, and the Over-all Implementation Plan, among others, were discussed by Ar. Zuluaga. Mr. Mabilog shed light on the 24 routes from the original 35 routes, which included Compania – Iloilo City Proper, Parola – Infante via SM City, and Mohon – City Proper via Infante routes. 

An Open Forum capped the event, which was actively participated by the audience. Dr. Nolan Tolosa from the College of Technology suggested a transportation scheme about effective measures applied abroad. Ma’am Necelle Oribe from the Basic Education Department shared her transportation experience and dilemma, as well as the plight of the students in the extension campus during the pre-pandemic. These were all responded well by the panelists, considering both the sentiments and inputs.
