New Chapter: PEAR Office Blessed at Alumni Hall

ILOILO CITY – The University of San Agustin (USA) marked a new chapter for its external and institutional affairs with the formal blessing and inauguration of the new Philanthropic, External, and Alumni Relations (PEAR) office on Friday, February 13, 2026.

The ceremony was held at the Alumni Hall and commenced by bringing together university administration, alumni leaders, and the Augustinian community.

The event opened with a solemn doxology by Kawilihan-USA, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and the USA Hymn led by the USA Choir and Troubadours. In her welcome message, PEAR Director Mary Anne Durias-Aurelio expressed gratitude for the new space, which will serve as the central hub for the university’s diverse external operations.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by the University President Rev. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA,  PEAR Director Mary Anne Durias-Aurelio, AGSO Director Rev. Fr. Renchie T. Senoro, OSA, USA Alumni Association (USAAA) President Dr. Asuncion L. Faro, and members of the USAIFI Board. This was immediately followed by a prayer to ward off spiritual disturbance and the formal blessing of the new office premises located on the 2nd floor of the Alumni Building.

The PEAR office plays a pivotal role in the university’s ecosystem, overseeing Philanthropy, Marketing, Alumni Engagement,  Customer Care, and the Institutional Media Center. It also manages the institution’s various performance arts groups: the Kawilihan-USA Dance Troupe,  the USA Band, the USA Choir and Troubadours, and the USA Little Theater.

Appropriately showcasing the office’s management of the arts, the event concluded with performances by the USA Band and the USA Little Theater, followed by afternoon snacks for the attendees.
