On January 8, 2026, Dr. Sheila R. Bonito, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of the Philippines Manila, along with Josephine E. Cariaso, MAN, RN, Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator of NurseLEAD, and colleagues, visited the University of San Agustin College of Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics. Their visit included the presentation and discussion of the NurseLEAD outputs from Dr. Louie P. Hijalda, Mrs. Bernadette A. Gamosa, and Ms. Ma. Jane P. Villanueva. Additionally, Dr. Bonito and Fr. John Louis S. Ricamora, OSA, held a separate meeting where they exchanged best practices, challenges, and aspirations regarding the implementation of Public Health Nursing.
NurseLEAD is a leadership course focused on advancing practice in Public Health Nursing for public health nursing instructors. It is organized by the College of Nursing at the University of the Philippines Manila in collaboration with the Johnson & Johnson Foundation. The course emphasizes key competencies, including Leadership in Public Health Nursing, Collaboration in Public Health Nursing, and Managing Public Health Nursing Interventions.
The College’s participation in the NurseLEAD program reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to enhance and strengthen the implementation of Public Health Nursing.
