Fr. John Louis Ricamora, OSA, from the University of San Agustin, achieved 2nd Place in the Podium Presentation category for Professionals during the 12th International Conference of Nurses (ICONS) 2023 last November 24-25, 2023 at Golden Peak Hotel, Cebu City, Cebu.
Under the theme “Advancing Healthcare For Older Persons: Current Trends and Future Directions,” ICONS 2023 served as a vital platform for industry experts to exchange insights and innovations in healthcare. Fr. Ricamora presented his novel study titled “The Intergenerational Care Received by the Older Adult Religious Men in a Religious Community” during the conference.
His research explores the perceptions and experiences of older adult men religious in intergenerational care in a religious community utilizing the exploratory-descriptive quality research design. His study shed light on the unique caregiving structures and reciprocal relationships existing within these communities, offering valuable insights into holistic care for older individuals in religious settings.
The conference was organized by Cebu Normal University with the attendance of nursing and health care professionals from across the country, and other countries like Singapore, Indonesia and the United States of America, among others.
The University of San Agustin, along with the College of Nursing, Nutrition, and Dietetics, commends Fr. Ricamora for this remarkable achievement. His dedication to advancing nursing knowledge and exploring intergenerational care complexities is a source of pride for the institutions he represents.
