One Heart, One Mind: Healing Relationships and Renewing Augustinian Values among CNND Stakeholders

On June 8, 2026, college personnel from the Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics programs gathered at the University Chapel for an Augustinian formation seminar entitled “One Heart, One Mind: Restoring the Augustinian Soul of Our College.” The activity served as a critical intervention for interpersonal relationship healing, aiming to realign the CNND community with its core institutional values.

The seminar addressed three objectives:

  1. Participants identified and dismantled “twisted” interpretations of Augustinian values that historically contributed to disunity. These were replaced with clear, authentic, and historical definitions of Veritas (Truth), Unitas (Unity), and Caritas (Love).
  2. Attendees engaged in a period of self-reflection to recognize personal and departmental behaviors—such as gossip, organizational silos, and academic elitism—that actively contradict the Augustinian call to be “of one mind and one heart.”
  3. The session culminated in the creation of a practical Service Agreement. This framework establishes concrete, non-negotiable behaviors outlining how Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics personnel will communicate, collaborate, and constructively resolve conflicts moving forward.

The insights and wisdom shared during this four-hour seminar brought much-needed enlightenment and clarity to the college personnel. It is with great hope that the Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics programs are now better equipped to foster a healthier, more collaborative, and spiritually aligned academic community.
