The competition, held at Robinsons Main on September 27, 2026, gathered the finest young broadcast journalists from across Iloilo. With his victory, Arguelles has earned the right to represent the institution in the upcoming Regional Competition—one more step toward even greater recognition.
In a heartfelt Facebook post following his victory, Arguelles expressed his profound gratitude to the people who made his journey possible.
“One more step for Regional Competition!” he wrote, brimming with excitement and humility.
The young communicator extended his appreciation to the Augustinian Communicators’ Guild – University of San Agustin for their all-out support, and to his Academic Supervisor, Dr. Rhoda Garzon-Campillan, for her unwavering guidance.
He also gave special thanks to his trainers, Sir Jc Manayon and Ma’am Jessa Madeleine Gange, for the training sessions that honed his skills. He did not forget to acknowledge Kherbie Agravante, the Year 1 Champion, for the valuable tips shared ahead of the competition, as well as Ma’am Clarice Talibo for being by his side during the formal training and in processing the necessary papers.
Arguelles also expressed his gratitude to his friends and acquaintances who sent messages of encouragement after his performance. Above all, he thanked his family for their constant presence and support.
The warmth of the Augustinian community was evident as he acknowledged his Coro Harmonia Fidei & Coro Liturgico Agustino family for showing up during the event. He also gave a special shout-out to Sir Steve Cordero and Sir Gordon Guillergan, faculty members of the BA Communication Program, for their presence.
“To everyone whom I forgot to mention, your messages, support, and presence mean a lot to me,” Arguelles added.
The entire Augustinian community beams with pride over his achievement and stands firmly behind him as he prepares for the Regional Competition.
